The history of your company
If I had to sum up the history of what brought about the Badger Den in one word it would be this: Friends. The name of the company way predates any business ideas or even connection to Mead which I now produce. The name itself come from a hideout, a rundown house which once belonged to my grandparents. My highschool friends and I turn this dilapidated place into a drinking den of sorts when we still were underage. We spent countless weekends there hanging out, smoking, joking, regaling one another with stories, sharing ideas, discussing our futures, getting into trouble and of course getting incredibly drunk. It was a safe haven, for us to all meet at, drink and have a good time.
Why Buy our Mead
With its humble start, what sets Badger Den Mead apart from all others is the very personal care and passion that goes into each process. The honey is locally sourced, with raw unfiltered Virginia honey that is carefully chosen for each batch. Each bottle is handled with passion and care, with the same love and care you put into any task you would do for your closest friends. As owner and proprieter I have put painstaining attention into the details of each batch and bottle. What truly sets us apart from all major honey brands is that the whole Mead making process, from the first mix of honey and water to bottleing, is all done by hand. No automation or heavy machinery is involved in the process. Only a small lever device, operated by hand, is used to cork each individual bottle. With such care and humble process are we able to delvier a product that stands up to it traditional roots. While Badger Den techniques may be tradition, the recipe is not. I am constantly experimenting with new ideas and flavors to bring variety and new life to this ancient beverage. Be it coffee Chocolate Mead, cinnamon hot pepper or other unique blend, my belief is that variety is the spice of life!
Customers
Well here is where Moloko Labs comes in with its market research- to identify who our customers are. All I can mention here is that I am not aiming to bring this Mead to the high end conossuiers and Mead snobs. I don’t plan on putting it into lab tested competitions where each aspect is scrutinized in sterile conditions. No, this Mead, like the Badger Den’s beginnings is meant to be humble, comforting and available to those who stick to old traditions but like trying something new.
Impression
Want to ensure that we have high quality, but traditional presentation. A drink that is best shared with a great group of close friends be it playing board games, or sharing stories around the campfire. Its about getting back in touch with old friends or those who have drifted away and pulling them back together. something that we can all use in a time like now. I of course strive to provide each batch be of the highest quality, well aged, and provide a sense of drinkability with ones friends. And of course leaving you interested in what will be the next variety to come out.
